Herald of Tzeentch Completed

I've completed the Herald I hinted at a post or two ago. I like the way it's come out for the most part.
I'm also reasonably proud of the Tzeentch mark on the back. There was a lot of empty space on the back of the Destroyer body; at best it was kind of textured with the drybrushing and washing. At worst it was kind of 'bleh.' So, I pencilled in the symbol, then painted it, and BAM! Emeril-style, it looks better.
The base is a standard 60mm round, and the lava-bits are Squadron Green Putty. Gotta love that stuff for adding texture to bases. Then it's painted, and some GF9 ash waste flcok thrown into it when it's drying.

Nice job, you don't see Necron bits used in many conversions and it's a pleasant change to see the destroyer body used.

Thanks. Honestly, I think the Necron Destroyer bits are ripe for some sweet conversions. I actually briefly cooked up a Daemon Prince (with wings) that used the Destroyer's torso and lower body, and honestly? I think the bodies and destroyer bodies can work for a variety of things. The Gauss bits are somewhat distinctive, as are the heads..and the odd Battlewagon/looted wagon made out of a Monolith is win, but yeah. I think people overlook these a lot.

I've seen them (Necron bits) incoporated into Tau armies too with some successas well.

Got any pics of favorite Necron-tau conversions? I can see some of the weapons being interesting conversions, like the Destroyer's Gauss Blaster as a plasma weapon, or the Heavy Gauss Blaster as a rail gun.

It would be an interesting hybrid conversion theme.

Unfortunately, no. It was some kind of Battlesuit with the Destroyer back halves used as a set of wings.

Ah. Ok, that makes sense enough to me, and I can see it work. I've been kicking around adding wings to my suits as-is.

Too bad the Destroyer bits are pricy.

They are some nasty (cool) looking minis slick conversions
