Thoughts
Hive Guard and Tyrannofexes provide support; Tyrant and Gargolyes apply pressure while the Tervigons provide backup and objective support. The Doom just suggests you deploy carefully.

My worry is that I'm a little too in the middle here. I've got some shooting, I've got some assault, and I've got the Tervigons for objective support, but I wonder if I should drop the Tervis and go with Hormagaunts instead. I mean, I could make the transition from about 40 gribblies flying at you to ~80 of them running at you, and probably transition the Doom into an Alpha for rear syanpse support, and break the Hive Guard into 3x2.

Feedback & suggestions?

Gargies are kinda meh in HtH, cheap though.

The single HT is going to be making lots of friends with enemy weapons.

I think swapping a Tyranno for 2 Flyrants would be most useful. You still have your firepower, but you've also got 2 nasty devilbugs running up to say hello.

Shrikes or Raveners would fit in nicely as well if you're looking for something a little less imposing.

That is a good point; the solo flyrant IS asking for it, and no syanpse + gargoyles = trouble.

Dropping a Tyrannofex for another identical flyrant leaves me with 15 points free. I'd thought about dropping a Gargolye and the doom and going to 3x3 Hive Guard, to make up for the firepower. On the other hand, the Doom does make people think about deployment long nad hard.

Thoughts?

I'd go for Tyrant Guard over Doom in that case, but it depends on whether the FAQ lets Doom affect models in transports.

Gribblies ... my work is done!

On the list, I'm a big fan of gargoyles and tervigons are awesome. I'm a little concerned about the Tyrannofexes and the Hive Guard... Neither unit is immune to close combat nerfing and I see little to no counter assault options in the mix.

Personally i'd 'concentrate all Anti Tank fire' on the Tyrant first and then switch to the Tervigons, concentrate some multilasers/heavy bolters/autocannons on the Doom (torrent of fire the bugger) and then jump the gunbeasts in close combat - where they'll be tied up for the whole game.

Don't get me wrong - gargoyles are nice ... but four flamer templates and they're gone.

Then you've got to fight me down with Termagaunts... and you've only got two synapse creatures? So your Termagaunts will only have a maximum reach of approximately 24" - unless you want to start exposing your tervigons??

That's where hormagaunts are still useful, and trygons too ... as you can wind them up and 'release the beasts'!
